“Perfect” Nevada Democrat Snubbed By Reid

With three other Democrats vying for the same seat, it looks like Flores’ stock is falling fast. What a difference a year makes. Lucy Flores, a Democratic candidate for Nevada’s 4th Congressional district, is struggling to find her political footing after a crushing loss in last year’s Lieutenant Governor’s race. Apparently Senator Harry Reid, who previously called Flores the “perfect” candidate, wasn’t impressed with Flores’ poor performance either.

“In a phone call that is one of his specialties, sources confirm, he called Flores, whom he once called a demographically ‘perfect’ candidate, and told her
something quite different: I’m not supporting you.

Yes, this is the same Harry Reid who said when Flores entered the race against Hutchison for lieutenant governor that she is ‘young, dynamic, Hispanic. She’s great.’

Not so great anymore, it seems.”

With three other Democrats vying for the same seat, it looks like Flores’ stock is falling fast.

Yesterday, the TV program Nevada Newsmakers discussed the potentially bruising Democratic House primary in Nevada’s 4th Congressional district.

Highlights from the conversation include one panelist noting, “That’s going to be a very crazy race. … A bruising four-way primary could certainly help the incumbent anyway.” Later, the moderator adds, “You have a situation where a lot of money’s going to be spent and by the end of the primary, everybody’s going to be broke and Crescent Hardy will be sitting there with all the cash.”

Nevada Democrat Goes District Shopping, Crushing Democrats’ Hopes

Democrats had hoped Las Vegas activist Susie Lee would mount a challenge to their perennial target Joe Heck in Nevada’s 3rd congressional district, but she has chosen to join the Democratic primary in Nevada’s 4th district instead.

Lee’s decision to go district shopping and run in the 4th district instead of the 3rd leaves a top swing seat without a Democratic challenger and causes a crowded Democratic primary for yet another high priority seat for Nancy Pelosi.

Committee Testimony Confirms Harry Reid Got Preferential Treatment In EB 5 Case

Earlier this year it was discovered that Reid shepherded Chinese investors in a Las Vegas casino through the controversial EB-5 visa process, sparking an investigation.

Wednesday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the results of the Inspector General’s
report, finding that Reid pressured the Department of Homeland Security to fast-track the visas, despite the fact that there was “no basis” for expediting
them.
